Moving to an area in Lonond with teenagers

Hello lovely mums,

I had a search and couldn't quite find what I'm looking for and so, I'm here to ask if any of you know of a lovely area to live around Croydon that has got good schools for a family of 3? Mother and 2 teenage children. Somewhere outside would be ideal as I've heard Croydon can be a bit dangerous for teenagers.

I would really appreciate any recommendations.

I love South East London like forest Hill honor oak brockley but maybe too far from Croydon?

What is your budget OP? Beckenham has some good secondaries but catchment areas are pricey, ditto places like Bromley/Orpington, or Kent if you’re looking for grammars? They might be a bit far though. South Norwood and Anerley are closer (and cheaper, so budget is important!) but schools don’t have as a good a reputation.

I have suggested these to her and she'll have a look at some possible places to rent.

The budget would be £1600 to £1800pcm.

I know Croydon is not a great place to live, especially with teenagers so that's why we're trying to find somewhere else but close to Croydon because of her job.

Sanderstead is your best bet honestly, take a look. It's actually pretty nice.

Agree about Sanderstead.

Depending on where the job is and hours of work, consider somewhere south of Croydon- Redhill or Reigate perhaps?
