He's 15. Showers regularly. Uses whatever shower gel we have.
He has deodorant but it's just whatever is on offer, sure for men, type stuff

Is there anything more specific I can get him for washing and under his arms that will help?

Just a few hrs after a shower I can smell him

A shower gel with tea tree oil, or propper soap.

MayBeee · 06/06/2022 11:27

Another one saying he needs soap.

Try the roll on version of Mitchem ,dark green colour. Worked well on my sweaty smelly son.
Get him to put it on as many times as possible, in a day.

He may complain its wet and sticky but it dries in a few minutes.
They do the aerosol one but no idea how good that is.

Deodorant or anti perspiration?

There are extra strong anti perspirants available too.

Greydogs123 · 06/06/2022 11:30

proper soap is much better for stink than shower gel.

Nutellaspoon · 06/06/2022 11:35

Proper soap for the pits
It's likely in his clothes too. Biological powder in the wash and Dettol stuff in the washing machine. use a hygeine steam wash cycle if you have one.

OnlyLosersTakeTheBus · 06/06/2022 11:44

For DS it was his clothes - now they have a pit spray with enzyme cleaner, then two scoops of biological washing powder plus scent boosters and the Dettol stuff as fabric conditioner. And he was only using a quick wash cycle so I've talked him into a longer one.

Mitchem is wonderful for excessive sweating my partner and SD both use this and it's better than anything else

nicerucksack · 06/06/2022 16:42

Seconding (or thirding?!) proper soap. Shower gel doesn't work on BO. If your school jumpers are anything like ours (crackly horrid polyester stuff) that won't be helping, unfortunately.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 06/06/2022 16:46

Bar of soap for his pits and Sure anti perspiration. Shower ever day, clean shirt every day, repeat. Also check with him he's not just standing under the shower magically expecting clean pits 🤣

springisaroundthecorner · 06/06/2022 22:24

Our DS is 15. He uses Triple Dry deodorant. It works brilliantly. If he uses any other brand he smells.

Flatandhappy · 07/06/2022 09:11

Not sure if you can get it in the UK but Rexona Clinical Protection anti-perspitant/deodorant was a game changer for my smelly boy. Two showers a day and two changes of clothes did nothing, he can now do physical stuff for hours and still smell nice. Dove do something similar.
