Ds NC with dad

Ds17 has decided he wants nothing more to do with his bio dad following an argument. He's blocked him on his phone and all social media so his dad can't contact him, so I'm getting messages from him instead. We had as low contact as possible as I hate the man.

Anyone else been in this situation?? Ds turns 18 in a couple of months so I'm in the mind to just leave him to it. His dad is expecting an apology from Ds but won't apologise to Ds, Ds says he's got a long wait

Given DS’s age I’d just ignore the messages from your ex, or at the least make it clear it’s not your argument to resolve. what is he even expecting you to do? Clearly you being dragged into the situation, if there is animosity with his dad, won’t help anyway.

you suggest they had minimal contact anyway….was this argument a situation that was inevitable as your DS got older and saw his dads shortcomings more clearly?

Sorry I meant his dad and I had low contact. Basic texts with important info or when Ds was in hospital with Covid. Ds was seeing his dad around 4/5 hours a week so not really missing much.

Despite the court order favouring exh 2 of our 3 dc went nc with him at 12 and 14. They had hidden how awful things were for them for a long time. Court sadly fell for his smart suit and posh voice and gave him ample opportunity to abuse our dc... Even when he had a known sex offender in their bedrooms he told Cafcass they were lying. .
Luckily they have blossomed into amazingly well adjusted dc at 18 and 20.
