Moods

My 15 year old is generally a really nice kid. She works hard at school, is tidy, clean l, looks after herself etc …. But, she has a short fuse and gets easily irritated. She can come across with a really moody tone, but takes it really badly if people ask her why she’s moody-she says that question is what puts her in a mood?! She can’t seem to understand that her tone can sound like that, she’s snappy when things don’t go her way and doesn’t manage her frustrations well.
Shes had an 18 month pivotal relationship end recently and was s already seeing someone else who totally adores her, but she gets easily irritated with him and I’m concerned she’ll push him away (her feelings for him are completely genuine, this isn’t a rebound, they’ve known each other a long time and I think we’re always going to get together).
I’m struggling with how to explain that she sounds like a mardy mare as every-time I mention it she accuses me of having a go at her? I’m running out of ideas and don’t want her to blow things and push people away…😩
