Acne

Ds 16 has been taking antibiotics for moderate acne. It's improved but is still there - which is what the GP predicted- a 70% or so improvement. Is there anything else worth trying? He doesn't get on with acnecide - itchy and burny- and wants to try 'natural supplements' probably seen them on social media.

Hi, my son started using Dematica following sending over photos of his skin so they could prescribe cream to suit. It took a few months but his skin looks fabulous now. He has stopped taking his oral antibiotics by the doctor so I am hoping to keep his skin clear just with Dermatica. Not sure about any natural remedies we did try many. many creams, both prescription and over the counter without any success.

Differin

How long has he been taking the antibiotics?
How long was he using acnecide? All topical antibiotics will make the skin itchy and sore for a time while your skin adjusts to it. Mild oral antibiotics didn't work for me and I wasn't brave enough to try roaccutane. I used differin cream and zineryt (not together) and found both really suited me.

I wouldn't bother with 'natural supplements', sounds more like someone trying to flog something on Facebook.

Tretinoin topically has also been helpful for my teen.

There’s an initial purge but it’s really kept everything under control
