Very long first period

Dd13 started her first period 10 days ago. It's pretty light but showing no sign of stopping. Is this within the realms of 'normal'? I've been very reassuring to DD but am slightly worried as I haven't heard of this before...

@pinkpip100 My DD had her first period just over a year ago. It lasted over 10 days. Seemed a bit on the long side to me but wasn't concerned myself. It was very light at the end, but did seem never ending! It settled down to lasting between 5-7 days in the following months.

Yes very normal, early cycles are often anovulatory (no egg produced) bit like as women approach the menopause. Dd was similar as was I 33 years ago. Nothing to worry about it will settle down.

Thanks both - it finally stopped on day 11 - really reassuring to know it's 'normal', I was struggling to remember that far back!
