Contraceptive pill / low mood

Would appreciate any advice / others experience.

My dd (16) was prescribed a progesterone only pill to help with bad period pains and has taken it for just over 3 months now. Worked great in this respect as her periods have stopped but she has been experiencing increasing low mood / anxiety. She has always been quite anxious but this has ramped up to a whole new level and I have become very concerned.

I am fairly sure there is a link to her taking the pill and the increase in her low moods and she has stopped taking it as of today. Has anyone experienced anything similar with their dd and if so how long after stopping did your dd start to feel better?

She has a doctors appointment in a couple of days about something totally unrelated (finger injury) so will mention this to doctor.

Yes, Good to discuss this with Doctor. They know that one type of treatment does not suit everyone and there are many alternatives.
Of course, few Mumsnetters are medically qualified, myself included, hence the lack of answers, but we do sympathise. Best of luck to you both.
