Snaptchat - do your teens have it?

My (just) 13 yr old would like to download it but I am worried about messages being only temporary and explicit photos being sent to her / pressured to send them at school. I have no concerns about this - I just worry about the private nature of snapchat compared to tiktok which she does have. Any ideas??

Both my teens are on it, although they are older now than yours. It appears to be the main way they message each other.

More than texting or WhatsApp or even Insta.

She may miss out if she's not on it.

I let mine have an account as long as I knew their passwords and they were aware that I could log on when I wanted. Took off the location part of it, kept their account private and didn't add anyone they didn't know.

I'm not sure if you know how to use it, but set yourself up an account too and be added as a friend. Learn how to use it.

However be aware that some teens have their account where mum can access and then another private account. 🙄

As if we wouldn't have thought of that! Hahah
