What date do your year 11 finish lessons?
Ours seems to be 27 April and then only going in to school to sit exams after that

maddy68 · 16/03/2022 19:57

Eatglass · 16/03/2022 19:59

No idea school won't tell them! If the last two years are anything to go by we will get a text one Thursday saying don't come in tomorrow and bye 🙄

snowmanshoes · 16/03/2022 20:00

Yes same as oxana last day of exams which is end of June time

@springisaroundthecorner For Ds1 a few years ago it was the last science exam as everyone is in for that, all other core subjects had been sat, so they did the exam in the morning, went straight into a leavers' assembly, then into year 11 common room for shirt signing, photo taking on their phones and had to be off site a good 15 minutes before the lunch period.

Ds was back in for 2 more exams. Prior to this he would sit an exam and they would then go back to whatever class was timetabled. If they had completed all their exams for that class then they would go into a revision class for something they hadn't completed.

Study leave isn't the norm as they feel students should still be in school where they can make sure they are covering revision stuff rather than not being in school and either not having the best environment to study in or not bothering to revise.

RampantIvy · 18/03/2022 08:05

DD's school didn't allow study leave until the last week of the exams. The school discovered that there were better outcomes by doing this. The end of April seems very early to me. Surely they can't have covered all of the syllabus?

toomuchlaundry · 18/03/2022 08:08

Isn’t the end of June because technically they are not treated as leaving school until that date.

underneaththeash · 18/03/2022 08:10

11th May for DS1. Teaching is a bit crap at school - he'll get a lot more done with me at home!

Silkierabbit · 18/03/2022 08:12

Last day of exams here, school inbetween exams as well.

springisaroundthecorner · 18/03/2022 18:17

This is strange. So many different dates

More schools these days don't offer study leave until well through the exams. I have never heard of study leave as early as April before. It is too early IMO.

autumnboys · 18/03/2022 18:30

No study leave for my year 11. They’re in until they finish exams. My year 13 is at 6th for college abs will go off towards the end of May. They run revision sessions and drop ins for them.

MrsBlondie · 19/03/2022 22:47

End May here

user1471443411 · 19/03/2022 22:51

Our school won't tell us yet, they say they don't know, but apparently they don't have study leave. I can't see the point in going in when you've done most of your exams.

aramox1 · 20/03/2022 07:12

Mid May just before exams start. Ds tells me school up til then is optional 😂
