Daughters friend ref self harm

My Dds friend is 13, and is autistic. She has sent some very disturbing texts to my dd,referencing self harm, alcohol abuse and suicidal thoughts. I don't know her parents at all to speak to them, and am wary of making the situation worse without advice from professionals before bringing this up with either of the girls. My dd has been very open about it all to me so don't want to jeopardise this. Any advice very welcome as to what to do.

Id speak to safeguarding at the school

Explain to your dd her friend needs help, why not telling an adult is not an option and talk about the best way to do this

Options include your dd supporting her friend telling her parents (ds went with a friend once to tell his parents and I got a call from them to confirm they had been told), you tell the parents, you tell the school.

You need to inform the safeguarding lead at school if you can't contact the girl's parents directly. You can't sit on this. It's very important, too, that your DD understands why you need to do this - to keep her friend safe.
The safeguarding lead will be used to situations like this as it's not an unusual occurrence, sadly.
