Bullying

Evening everyone,

My poor 14 year old is being bullied by a group of girls at the moment and it seems to be relentless, it's either in person out and about outside of school or online. Probably the worst part for her is during school, being followed by a group constantly and having to hide in classrooms to get away. She is on the autistic spectrum also. I have had meeting after meeting with the school with promises of things getting sorted out but nothing seems to of been done about it.

I guess my question is where do I go from here? She has a group of friends she spends her time with at break times but I think they are just as intimidated as my daughter and often walk away. I don't know what do to as a next step.

If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it 😊

This sounds like a nightmare. I think you need to get a bit tougher with school if they are not doing anything. You could also post this in secondary education as there may be teachers who have ideas on how to protect your DD eg. Can she get a job in the library at lunchtime? Are there any clubs she can attend at lunch? I assume it's naughty lunch that's the issue as break is quite short. I would also submit a list of the exact children involved and put it al l in writing. I think the usual escalation would be form tutor, head of year, head of pastoral/ behavior, head teacher. Have you tried getting in contact with all of them? What is their excuse for not doing anything?

My DS was being bullied in y7 and it only took a quick email to form tutor and then a meeting with her. She dealt with the child in question. It did not happen again. Your poor DD should not be going through this. Likewise in y10 there was one incident during a class so I spoke to the class teacher said she changed the seating plan by the next lesson. End of story.

The school need to address this. Also look at their bullying policy and see if they are sticking to it.
