What do you mean she’s asked for no screen time?

mumofblu · 13/02/2022 20:36

Sorry asked for screentime to stay on 24/7 . I usually switch phone off at 10.30 during school time because she was staying on till early early hours .

Noooo. Being on phones til 3am is just such a horrible habit. Can you explain to her you need a healthier compromise.

What is she doing is it chatting or watching stuff. Could you make it midnight or 1

I compromise with my 15 year old DS.

So during the week, his phone goes into his games room at 10.30pm ish. And on Fridays and Saturdays he can have his phone in his room overnight. During holidays, I stick to this routine because otherwise he'd be doing what yours is - messing about until 3am!

So I feel it's a step towards him being able to choose for himself but also uses in place and he sticks to them as we agreed them together

*rules in place

It's a hard one. I take the phone at 11 Mon- Thurs at 11.30. The rest of the time is his own.

The Wi-Fi goes off here at 11.30.

My youngest (14) has to give his phone up after 9.30. The others are older 17+ so can use their data if they want, but they mostly choose not to and go to sleep at a reasonable time.

I decided it was best for all of us for it to go off, myself included. Although I have more data than them so could use it all night if I wanted!

Could you change it so she has X hours of phone time per 24 hours during the holiday so she then gets to decide when she uses it?

StarsAreWishes · 14/02/2022 22:18

Hell no! Why would you let her be online at 3am at her age.
