@Hellocatshome

I dont think it matters really if they cant make the sushi to a good standard I think the fun will be in the trying.
Fair enough. I lived in Japan for years and am a bit fussy about my sushi!Grin

Vietnamese spring rolls are paper thin rice pancakes.

DIY sushi is a bit complicated. I would buy ready made from the supermarket. Most supermarkets do selection boxes for a couple of pounds, the veggie sushi box is in the £3 lunch deal at Tesco. Sainsburys also stock the Yo Sushi products as well as their own brand veggie sushi and all the major supermarkets stock Itsu products eg gyoza, bao buns, edamame beans, prawn crackers, seaweed snacks, ramen etc You could get Little Moons ice cream mochi for pudding.

If you have a local Asian supermarket, you can get interesting snacks, sweets and soda. The world food aisle in big Tescos usually has a selection too. If you want to splash out, the mixed dageshi boxes on Amazon are fun (Japanese pocket money snacks and sweets).

If you want a DIY element, you could get some of the Kracie Poppin' gummy candy kits or tapioca pearls to make their own bubble tea.

From past experience the 'make your own' goes down a treat at this age.
I've not done sushi, but have done pizza's, burgers, cupcakes, waffles and have all gone down brilliantly with late pre-teens and early teens.

Could you buy some personalised Biscuiteers biscuits to go with the afternoon tea or for take home presents (depending on how many guests are coming as could get quite expensive?) I took my teen DD to a biscuiteers cafe for a session on icing biscuits at Xmas and we had a whale of a time.. But not useful if you live miles away from the nearest one!

You could get some oracle cards and let them play about with readings?

AlexaShutUp · 13/02/2022 14:47

Or have a tiny crystal with each place setting?
