Hi I have twin boys who are starting driving lessons next week. I have found a Ford Ka that would be suitable and now need to brave the insurance Any tips or recommendations please

How are you insuring it?
Who owns it?
Who will be down as the main driver?
Is this for after they pass or for them to practice on whilst learning?

My main tip is to involve them in putting in the legwork to find the best deal now, and let them see what a few hours spent on comparison sites can do to help bring their premiums down every year. Don't do it for them.

Thanks

I will be the owner, I haven't bought the cvar yet. It will be for them to practice on and use after they pass

We found the best thing to do when they were learning was to insure it ourselves & use a company (eg Marmalade or Veygo) who do a stand alone insurance (which means your no claims binus isn't affected if they have an accident) which you can have for set amounts of time, so we stopped it when they weren't practicing, for example over Christmas or during holdays/exams.
You will find that as soon as they pass the insurance shoots up enormously as they become the primary drivers so you can't insure it in your name.

Try Adrian flux , both mine insured with them as learners
