So my son along with other classmates have been bullying a girl in the class via Snapchat. I feel terrible for this girl I was thinking of making up a hamper of goodies and sending it to her via the school anonymously.
WhAt do you ladies think of the idea good or bad ?

What have you done/said to your son!?

cheekychaplin · 25/01/2022 18:53

Don't be ridiculous. Deal with the situation and stay away from the victim.

its a sweet idea and its good that you care , im sure there are many parents that wouldnt , but the best and only thing you can do for this girl is making sure that your son realizes that bullying her is wrong , you wont be able to influence what the other students are doing , ultimaltly its down to the girl to tell her mum so she can deal with it , but at least your son is not going to be one of them making her miserable
i say this as a mum of a 13 year old girl who has and still sometimes does suffer from bullying although thankfully her school do deal with it effectivly

As someone who was bullied and has been left with lifelong mental health issues, I wouldn't send the hamper. Just make very effort to deal with the bullying and make it stop. Make your son understand how damaging it is. Do everything you can to ensure that he never does it to anyone else again.

I understand your thought process but honestly I wouldn't.

It's your sons actions he should be the one who's sorry not you (even on his behalf)

We’ve obviously spoken to him about the seriousness of the situation, we’ve taken away his computer and telephone for the foreseeable future. He has also written a letter of apology. My younger son was badly bullied physically and verbally so I’ve seen first hand what effect it has on a child. That’s why I’m so annoyed my eldest would behave like this.
