My DD is 15 and we have been chatting tonight. She has been telling me about a website she sometimes goes on to talk to strangers. She never shows her face and just does it for a laugh. She often tells me the things she does and we have a really good relationship. She has just shown me how it works and I am a bit shocked but she has suffered from anxiety for the last couple of years and has been very scared of people IRL and also via the internet. She is extremely internet savvy and is very careful with social media profiles etc and she never shares anything on tiktok. She says she just does it for a laugh and says it is so cringy. She never has her camera on or shares her real name.
I am quite shocked something like this exists - she promises me she is safe- and I totally believe her. It looks it is full of pervy men. I am sure lots of teenagers use it but just don't tell their parents. Has anyone ever come across this with their teens and how did you react??
