breast development but no periods

My daughter started breast development at age 11 1/2. She is now nearing 14 and has not yet started her periods. She recently had a big growth spurt (she's tall and lanky), has had discharge for well over a year, and has had pubic and underarm hair since age 9. It seems like her development is all over the place, and I'm a worrier :) Do others have daughters with similar patterns? Thanks for any reassurances you can offer!

There’s plenty of time and I don’t think you need to be worried about this. It’s natural development and everyone develops differently. If you have any concerns, speak to your doctor.

Not uncommon at all.

Don’t worry yet !

My dsis had breast development at that age and periods at 14. I had periods at 11 and no breasts!! Came later but never too big. There was a year between us which meant l got mine way before her despite her being a foot taller and me being a skinny tiny little thing. There doesn't seem to be any pattern. At least at 14 she is well prepared for periods.

13/14 isn’t especially late. My sister started to develop at around 11/13, but not periods until 16. She’s perfectly fine at 28.

No need to worry yet.

The gap between breast development and periods starting was 3 years for my DD. Not sure what's typical.

Thanks for all of the helpful replies! I will try to relax and let things unfold organically :)

I started my periods at 17, my younger sister started hers years before me at just 11, so our mum had both ends of the normal range. Think I preferred 17 to 11!

You have at least a couple of years before you need to worry about it.

I don't have a daughter but I was fully developed well before my periods started (which started at 14 y 3 m). Most of my friends seemed to start their periods well before I did both age wise and developmentally, but I still think this is well within what is considered normal.
