As it says . My Dd is seeing a new bf of 19 days , he seems nice , arranges nice dates , treats her well . She says she likes him but it's early days ofc .
I've just picked her up bus stop as they've been to the cinema today . As I was driving her home she said that t she was really missing J her ex . He was complicated , no money , difficult home situation but really loved her quickly , he was not ideal , stealing , roaming ,too forward ", sexually confident , different to our DD . I reminded her of this and that she liked his mate , but now she says she didn't appreciate him or what they had , now she's sobbing in her room x
What do I say ! Do ?

I'm really not sure what you can do apart from talking to her as you've already done.

How is she today?

Just leave her be. She'll get over it in her own time. Any implication that hearts do mend at this point will only be evidence of your own HEARTLESSNESS and FAILURE TO UNDERSTAND the depth and purity of teen love.

Take her a hot chocolate, give her a hug and tell her that the nice guys are the ones to invest in.
Then Watch a chick flick with her to make her feel better.

She's 14. You don't do anything. You provide hot chocolate and try to get her to see her friends (not boyfriends) and go on family trips and behave like a 14 year old. If you make her young teenage relationships into a bigger deal than they are then she will see them as a bigger deal than they are as well.
