My daughter has literally changed overnight, she is moody snappy, horrible, doesn't want to talk not interested in family or friends just her boyfriend. I know uts just a phase but when do they start coming back to being nice people again? She is 15

Apparently the brain chemistry doesn't settle until early-mid 20s but it's a bit up and down.
I remember being rather supercilious to
my Mum when I came back from university aged 21. However after a rough couple of years my 17yo and I get on very well about 90% of the time.

Well, according to the books I have read, when their brains finish growing around 24/25 yrs. But according to my friends, as Vodkared says, they tend to get a lot better, and have more appreciation of everything that goes in to running a home, once they move out. Mine has been a bit "feisty" since her 14th birthday and she is 18 yrs now. Things are improving overall but progress isn't strictly linear Smile

I was a wanker until about 22. However my mum was a bit of a wanker too so it might have ended sooner if she wasn't joining in Grin

I was a delight out of the house.

@Ladyof
Hi , I went out for lunch with my mum and sister last week and asked this exact question !
My mum replied
"when you were about 25 " and my sister nearly choked with laughter because in secret she told me what she used to get up too but she did it quietly and was no trouble while my mum was trying to parent me as the eldest !!!

I'm getting a feeling of karma !!!

My DS was a royal pain in the arse from 15 to about 18. He’s now 21 and voluntarily washed my car inside and out today as a little surprise! It can happen. Don’t lose hope Grin

My 17 year old bought me lunch today, two Greggs sausage rolls and a jam doughnut - I'll take that as a sign he like me again !

In my experience 14-17 are the worst. Discipline behavior, not attitude. Best advice I ever got 😊

Gets much better at around 18 years old.

My ds was a bit tiresome between 11-13 and has been lovely ever since. I don't really do rules but perhaps that's because he doesn't do anything I have to prevent.
