Worried about DS. He is 15. He is telling lies to a girl he has known a while at a sporting activity. He is telling her he does a combat sport that he's never even tried before. I've warned him about lying before but it seems to be some sort of fantasy to him. We have had a discussion about this type of thing before but he just carries on. He is obviously trying to impress her but I don't want this to carry on into his adult life.
He has lied/created stories to us before, that caused us a lot of worry. E.g telling us he saw something when he was on the way to play football, which then had to be investigated and wasted police time .I think he's fabricating stories to create excitement for himself? He doesn't understand how much trouble this causes. Tomorrow I am ringing the GP to ask advice, as this could be a mental health issue?
His behaviour is really strange with time too. He can spend an hour/90 minutes "stuck" when he has gone to do a simple task, like having a shower. We find him sat on the stairs or on the edge of the bath watching you tube.
Sorry this sounds odd but it's not normal behaviour.
