This might seem like a silly question but my DD (nearly 14) wants a Tech suit. Lots of the girls locally have them for competitions etc.
We've got this far without one - and to regionals etc and I've let her have a non-tech legsuit. All the other girls at club over 12 have one.
I don't think they make any difference unless you are at a super high level such as nationals. DD has filled out and no longer has the body of a child.
I'm not adverse to buying one in the sales up to £150 and missed out on recent sales. Any recommendations ? Or is this a bad idea.

We’ve just bought a new one for my 13 year old.

I agree they are a waste of money at this age/level but they are part of fitting in - all the other girls will be wearing them.

They are made to be ridiculously tight and I’d recommended getting them sized and fitted by someone in a swim shop who knows what they are doing. Closed back seems to be easier for them to get on/off themselves than open back.

I justified by feeling grateful that she’s still swimming (great exercise, good social geoup( because she flirted with giving it up earlier in the year and by how expensive other sports can be, such as sports shoes for runners and costumes for dancers

Go online to a company called Mailsports. If you contact them, they will be able to advise regarding size etc. They cover all price points and won't try selling you the most expensive, Olympic standard suit!!!

We got DD's from Mailsports, we went to their shop (pre Covid) and they were very helpful. Of course it's hardly been worn, with Covid and then she got injured and is now considering quitting but she loved having it and being like the others at the couple of meets where she did get to wear it.
