School uniform help!

Has anyone managed to find a short sleeved white shirt for school that is not see through? This drives me nuts every year. My teen girl is reluctant to take her jumper off and gets in a fluster when too hot! Also tights, which are the best for under a short skirt and staying up without bands round the legs? My search history on my phone is oh so dull right now ;)

Does she wear a nude coloured bra rather than white? White shows up more. My dd got on fine with both M&S and Tesco shirts

We always used John Lewis (& often nude bras) for short sleeved white shirts.

Next are good

DD has some 3/4 length sleeved ones from Banner (bought from Amazon) which seem good. I agree that a skin coloured bra is better than white if that is a worry.

For tights, I always checked the size chart as DD is tall with long legs - Primark tights seem absolutely fine for staying up if the size is right (and cheap to replace)

M&S 60 denier body sensor tights are fab. Not the cheapest, but they do last 👍🏻

With a nude bra even shirts from Asda are fine.

Tights are usually primark or Asda. Both are fine, don’t go baggy and are cheap to replace if they ladder.

A "nude" bra would depend on the DD's skin colour. I don't know how readily available "nude" underwear for black skin shades is.

Thank you all. We have nude bras and a variety of blouses from matalan, next & tesco. I’ll definitely try some of your suggestions too!
Tights are an ongoing saga, think I’ll try Primark when I’m near one as we are remote Scotland it’s tricky when shops are not online :(

I would imagine it's a case of paying more for thicker material for the blouse.

How short is her skirt if the bands at the top of the tights are on show?!

John Lewis Organic cotton shirts are lovely and thick. I don't think you can get them in store, just online.

As already asked, how short is her skirt??

Would she wear a vest top under her shirt? I think white shirts are generally quite see through.

The skirt isn’t too short. More thigh than knee though but that is common in her school/age group. The bands on some tights are quite low. Even on the thick ones!! The skirt does ride up though 😬

M&S shirts seem quite good. My DD likes them quite loose fitting which I think also helps with lessening the seethroughness.

For tights I've also found going a size or two up from what you actually are enables you to pull them up higher and keep any thigh bands out of sight.
