Out of school activities for geeky boys?

My son is 15 and games a lot! I would love him to be involved in an out of school activity but he is a self proclaimed geek who says all the activities are sporty or outdoorsy which he hates.
Are there any clubs/activities that might tempt him to leave his bedroom occasionally?

Do you have a gaming shop near you? My son plays Pokémon but there are groups that play warhammer, d and d, yugioh, magic and things like that.

Any local air cadets? That's not as outdoorsy focused as army cadets, more technical and you get to fly gliders which is pretty cool.

Anything artistic/music - joining a band would be a good one if he's so inclined. Or youth theatre or dance.

there are lots of coding clubs - FireTech is v good (but v expensive) but there are others.

What about science or computer/coding clubs?

Also you could look at more niche sports that don't require lots of exertion, like archery, clay pigeon shooting, etc?

My geek loved doing a coding club via zoom. I know it's still a screen but at least it's productive!

My non sporty gaming but not techie ds does air cadets, tried ccf but it was a bit alpha...also we made him play an instrument to gcse...and he has enjoyed composition...had just started music technology before lockdown and loved it ...
Still screens but different..our local college has it and dj/music production....it needs proper kit so makes him leave the house:)

Bell ringing (in a church tower) although need to wait for stage 4 probably and the average age could be a bit high. But they would be very welcoming. It’s quite pattern/maths based.
