Hell! Just found a joint in DD's (15) bedroom

I wasn't snooping!
She was / is in the shower and I went into her room to gather up her floor drobe (as usual) and her bag was on the floor so I picked it up to hang up and stuff fell out including a joint.
Recently she had been even moodier than usual and cried twice at school - she says she isn't motivated (she is Year 10).
Now it all makes sense.
Was I naive?

What do I do?
I put it back and want to be calm - I certainly have smoked in the past but not at 15.
Also I am now paranoid she has it on her at school.
Help!

Oh jeez, just what you needed!

You'll have to tell her. I take it she knows you go in to her room as she'll have seen that it's tidier than she leaves it so if she's happy for you to be an unpaid cleaner then she should hide stuff better!

It's not the end of the world though. It's one joint as opposed to a bag of weed so she's probably not making them herself/habitually.

Be prepared for her to tell you it belongs to a friend!

I'd focus on the legal implications over anything else

Yes, part of me wishes I hadn't seen it (head in the sand syndrome).
Feel so stupid that there were signs but I didn't spot them.

You aren’t stupid. I’ve never done drugs but was definitely moody and emotional as a teenager! And unmotivated at times too.

Aargh I’m sorry OP. That’s not a nice surprise for you.
