Without giving any details at all what needs to happen if a 16 year old has been kicked out? Would they be placed with foster carers or more likely in a hostile? Who needs to be contacted? I believe social services are aware but can't be sure.

My DDs friend was put in a flat. It's a block for 16-25 year olds. He was 17. There are staff to support them and they sorted out universal credit.

Your area might have a youth homelessness prevention team, I would notify them and give the child's contact details. In my area accommodation would be a temp bed in whatever hostel they have, could be out of the area though, then they would wait for a permanent bed to become available. Very unlikely to be fostered. The youth homeless team/children's services might also try to support the parent and child to help the child stay at or return home.

I wouldn't give the child's contact details if it wasn't my child though unless I had agreed that with them first .

The 16 year old should contact Shelter who will know what is available in their area.
