Does this sound like any of the above? Ds is 15 and I’ve wondered at times could he be. Things like
- poor concentration,
- Unable to finish work or keep up with teacher talking, having to write at same time
- High anxiety around anybody, socially, school, - family. Refuses to do anything in front of anyone - for fear of judgement
- poor sleep
- not physically hyper but mine on full alert all the
- time, very jumpy
- forgetful
- unable to organise himself, work, homework, - bedroom etc
- switched off in class, looking out the window
There are others.. he’s asked me himself to get him tested as he feels something is going on. I have wondered about some things at times. He’s heading into fifth year and I want him to have a more confident year. If there’s things we can do and get this stupid school to listen up when I tell them that he needs support. So called support teacher said to me he doesn’t need support, he doesn’t have ‘special needs’ .... well actually his anxiety is at high levels pretty much every day, he can’t concentrate. Also having been in care before coming here he is entitled to be considered for a support plan. Why do schools never get that looked after children have needs? They’re useless
