14yr old non-binary

Dd 14 has told me over a year ago she is bisexual. I support her because well, she's my daughter. I love her. I want her to be happy. She came home from school today & told me she is non-binary & doesn't expect me to get the pronouns correct straight away & isn't bothered if I don't get it right at all. I told her I wanted to try for her sake & respect. She also said she still wants me to refer to her as my daughter.

I guess I'm trying to get my head around all of this. It's all very new to me & I feel a bit alone in wanting to be able support her correctly. Has anyone else got a teen going through this?

@CoconutGal have a look at the LGBT children board (in the being a parent section).

Lots of people on there will have advice.
