White powder, yellow powder

My 15yo dd was out with friends all day yesterday, skateboarding (bruises to prove it!), came bsck happy as ever. She left her bag in kitchen, I looked thru it to see if any old bananas/other rubbish.
Found a little tin. Looked inside, found rizlas, lighter, two little pot of yellow/Sandy-coloured powder, little sachet white powder. Felt tip pen. Filter thing. I'm out of my depth, and need to know what she might have here. This is out of the blue, but not entirely unexpected as she's at a school in London where - apparently - drugs are rife.
What might these powders be? What should I do next?

Look at the Frank website or do you have a pic?

TheQueef · 20/04/2021 09:37

www.talktofrank.com

Thanks @TheQueef there is so much information there.
I guess I ask her about it this eve when back from school. & I have to confiscate & destroy the stuff. Fear that will just make her more careful about hiding it from me in future - but I don't think there can be any other course of action. If there are "legal highs" that look the same, and that's what she says they are, it's still bad news.

It could be any number of drugs, and to some extent what it is doesn't matter. How has her behaviour been generally? Any sign of drug taking there? How much money does she have access to? She must be paying for it some how. As for what you do, I think, stay calm, speak to her, and go from there. Hopefully you have caught it early, before she has got in too deep, and can put a stop to it now.

WorriedAboutDrugs321 · 20/04/2021 10:12

Thanks @Thunderdonkey
I don't think signs of drug taking, she is still enthusiastic about lots of hobbies. Seems happy. Doesn't have much money £35/month allowance, mostly goes of clothes and hair dye!

I will talk calmly with her this eve, after her sports practice and her music lesson! How does she have time for buying drugs with this lifestyle...?! I'm guessing must have bought from a friend.

Did you speak to her? How did it go?

ACatWhoBinds · 21/04/2021 20:52

My advice would be to send it to WEDINOS.org which is a drugs testing facility in wales. You just post it to them and they'll test it for you (doesn't cost anything)
That way you'll know 100% what the powder is (and if it's actually what she says it is)

WorriedAboutDrugs321 · 21/04/2021 21:53

Thanks @ACatWhoBinds I was wondering whether there was a way to do that.

@Thunderdonkey My dd told me a friend asked her to carry it for her, cos her mum goes through her stuff. I believe her, she has no signs of being drug user (touch wood). If so - bad friend & stupid risky thing of my daughter to do.

Better than it could have been then! Sounds like she needs to avoid that friend!

Littlegoth · 22/04/2021 07:35

I very much doubt it belongs to her friend. It’s a stock response and as a wayward teenager was exactly what my friends and I told our parents if we were caught.

There are no legal highs now either.

That's what I told my mum when she found drugs in my room when I was a teenager!
Littlegoth · 22/04/2021 07:41

My parents didn’t suspect either and still don’t. I was a prefect, averaging As and Bs and if adults who knew me back then found out now half of what we got up to they wouldn’t believe it.

happystory · 22/04/2021 07:42

Exactly what my son said when I discovered cigarettes in his room....

Scbchl · 22/04/2021 07:42

Theres so many it could be, the yellow could be mdma, speed. The white could be cocaine or also mdma. There is also lots of legal highs which I am unsure of that it could be. There's also ket, I'm not sure what colour it is.

Snap!
tenredthings · 22/04/2021 07:51

It could be ketamine, mdma, cocaine or amphetamine sulphate. The story about the friend is highly suspicious.

CuntAmongstThePigeons · 22/04/2021 08:25

Yeah thats also what I told my parents at that age. Its the go to response op! I was also playing competitive sports at County level and was a straight A student! Work hard, play hard was always the motto. As previous posters have said, the white stuff is most likely coke or ket and the yellow mdma.

Akal212 · 30/05/2021 22:10

Yellow powder sounds like 2-cb which is physically harmless depending on age I’d just speak to them

Shimmyshimmycocobop · 30/05/2021 22:42

The keeping it for a friend thing has been the go to response since I was a teen in the 80's. I'm surprised you took that completely at face value.

BumbleFlump · 30/05/2021 23:03

Oh my goodness 😯 I’m off to check my kids bags....🙈

Wow I didn't know you could do that, fab advice

Love51 · 30/05/2021 23:12

My brother was always "holding for a friend" too (mags and fags, they didn't find his drugs). My parents didn't believe his bull but there wasn't a lot they could do.

Bumzoo · 30/05/2021 23:21

I told my parents I was holding for a friend too. It's bullshit.
