My DS will be 16 next month before any of the restrictions are lifted and I'd like to make the day special for him. Can anyone help me with some ideas for the evening as he will be at school all day.

DD likes the idea of a world food themed party with each course served in a room decorated accordingly. We thought maybe Mexican nachos as a pre dinner nibble, duck pancakes from China as a starter, curry from India or gyros from greece as a main and brownie and ice cream from the USA as dessert.

I like the idea but I'd love to hear your suggestions.

Thanks.

My dd was 16 today.
I wrapped 16 diff wee gifts only 1 was a main gift. Mixed up the order and let her find each one in turn.
We got dressed up and had a takeaway and cake.

That sounds lovely - a friend of mine did that for her daughter and she loved it. They did Parisian breakfast, Mexican lunch and Italian dinner - and ordered some large poster back drops etc. Lots of balloons and made a real effort with the food!

My dd was 15 in January. There’s a website called Cameo where you can request short video messages from various actors/celebrities. I got Jay from the Inbetweeners to send her a happy birthday video. You get to give them suggestions about what to say and you get to keep the video permanently. She said it was the best present she had ever had!

That sounds lovely @Andi2020, if only he wasn't at school we could spread it out throughout the day too.
@izzybobsmum I'll take a look, I've never heard of the idea but it's a good one so thank you x
