Bum Sheep

Does anyone know what a bumsheep is (teen slang). I found out that the kids at school call my daughter a bum sheep but have no idea what it means.

DD (17) hasn't come across this specific term, but says she guesses it derives from 'bumming' someone, which means liking them excessively, so a bum sheep would probably be someone who follows someone else, thinks they're wonderful & does everything they say.

Thanks. I know she's been called a lesbian before so I assumed it had something to do with that.

Why are kids so horrible

Sounds like someone is jealous of a particular friendship your DD has?

empen · 27/10/2007 20:31

Is she welsh? - cause that could explain it.

empen · 27/10/2007 20:31

That sounded like I was taking the piss but I genuinley wasn't

Bumming sheep is having sex with them isn't it? So it sounds like a charming turn of phrase for your daughter to have to listen to.

Silly city folk, you all should know that a bum sheep, or more likely a bum lamb, is one that has been rejected by it's dam (mother), and needs to be bottle fed to survive. These animals turn out to be very affectionate to their keepers, of course.

Ask any sheep farmer.

Sounds like a party game for valley folk.

Slightlyred, how very sad for your daughter. Does she have some friends who are kind?

Being loud is very good for being picked on in this way. Saying out loud "leave me alone" and "stop picking on me" can be very effective.
