I went to my ds's first band gig tonight...they were a supporting band and I have to say, although I am biased, his band was better!!!

I am such a proud mum, after all that has happened recently, it has taken the sting out of all the sh*t.

OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH so proud

Hi ladies... they are called seventh storey road. They play thrash-ish metal (not my cuppa but I do like some of the songs Ive heard) They have only been together a few months and ds has only been playing bass about 6mnths! They work so well together.
There was a young lad there, can't have been more than about 14yrs, and he was plonking on the piano in the interval. At first I thought it was a calming tape that had been put on after all that heavy stuff... but no, this lad is a genius... he is sooo fantastic, such a gift. He can play absolutely anything.. you ask him, he will play it and in such a wonderful way too... move over elton!!!
I was gobsmacked at all of the talent there. They are only kids, teenagers and belong to a youth project. It's amazing just what talent is out there that gets overlooked.

I admire these youth workers, they have to have such a balanced view of everyone. If there are any out there that read MN then thanks for all your hard work. from a proud mum.

Fantastic Jojo. Hope that this leads to bigger and brighter things, isn't so lovely when you can be a proud mum instead of a ahrieking, moaning, tidy your bedrrom mum
