Duvet covers for teenage girls!

Thisismynewname123 · 24/11/2020 11:12

Really random question! My 14 year old dd has asked for a new duvet set for christmas. I find this age so hard because I think she probably wants something a bit more interesting than an adult set, but there isn't much that isn't either childish or too grown up. Can anyone show me recent purchases of duvet cover set that you have bought for your teenage girls please! Cotton only please.

My dd has one with cats on it and another with butterflies. From asda I think

www.etsy.com/uk/listing/832455588/tie-dye-bedding-double

This is the kind of thing my 14 year old daughter likes, but haven’t actually purchased hers from same seller as we are not in UK

@Tearsfortiers haha! I'm not sure my body shy dd will find that amusing. I think she'd be too embarrassed to have her friends round!

@midsummabreak Thanks, but I'm looking for cotton. I want it to feel soft and not make her sweaty

@Tearsfortiers thanks for the Urban Outfitters suggestion though. She might like something like this one.

I'll keep it in mind

Sausage dogs here.
Pugs would probably go down well.
Also, one with that jeffing 'Live Laugh Love' message on.
A set with one side flanelette, one side teddy bear fur.

I asked DD to surf the internet and let me know what she likes. I think check if it is cotton (polycotton is a big no-go for her, she sweats it through in 2 hours flat).

DD prefers actually graphic designs, she compensates for cutieness by having blankets and pillows with whatever she fancies otherwise.

Imapotato · 26/11/2020 19:59

So I ordered this one in a double for dd1 16 for Christmas www.amazon.co.uk/Dreamscene-Pillowcase-Bedding-Dinosaur-Reversible/dp/B072VM4T3X/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=dinosaur+duvet+cover+double&sprefix=Dinosaur+du&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1606420668&sr=8-3

Probably not what most teenagers would want 🤣 but I know she’ll love it!

Have you seen the soft ones? I think they're called something like Teddy duvet covers, I saw one in tesco reduced yesterday and it did feel lovely. I can't find on there site, but something like this in dunelm...

movingonup20 · 26/11/2020 20:10

Dd asked for checks at that age, and a double duvet

papaelf · 26/11/2020 20:25

What is her room decorated like? Mine always had sets to match the decor and furnishings after they outgrew character stuff.

peepeelongstocking · 26/11/2020 20:31

It might be worth asking what she’s after— my dd18 had a change of heart at around 15 after a few years of ‘grown up’ covers and has since had a variety of children’s ones from shows she liked as a child, current favourite is fifi and the flowertots Grin

Violetparis · 26/11/2020 20:35

My 15 year old has one with bananas on, I think ones with stars on are a safe choice.

Thisismynewname123 · 28/11/2020 11:19

Thanks for all of the replies above. After driving myself mad all week, I gave up and just asked her in the end. I had a shortlist of about 20!
@Tearsfortiers as suspected the boobs were a no (she thought they were funny, but said it would be too embarrassing when friends came round) but thank you for suggesting Urban Outfitters because they were by far the biggest hit of all the suggestions. She has chosen these, as amusing like the boobs, but without the embarrassment factor!
Yoga sloth duvet

I'm getting her another set from UO as well, as she liked most of the ones there, and at least there will be a semi-surprise if I get 2 sets!

Love the sloth!!

AnnaFiveTowns · 28/11/2020 13:32

My Dd loves a new duvet set and always asks for the ones from Urban Outfitters. Primark also do nice ones; theyre good quality and they're a lot cheaper.

AnnaFiveTowns · 28/11/2020 13:33

Forgot to say she's just 15

Tearsfortiers · 28/11/2020 16:52

Glad my suggestion was helpful. I much prefer the sloth one to the boobs! I've never bought from Urban Outfitters before so hope that they wash and dry well.
