Jojo’s bizzare adventure?

My 13 year old son has started watching this show recently called “jojo’s bizarre adventure” where strong people punch other people with ghost like things called stands, apparently. Ever since my son has started watching he has been saying things like “noone can just deflect the 30 meter radius emerald splash” what is it, and should he been watching it? He also has seemed to pick up on his friends (who has incredibly laid back parents) stuff, and as well as jojo he also has started talking about these things called “wifus”! Please explain what all of this stuff is, and if he should be watching/talking about it.

Ratings wise it seems to be ok but could you sit and watch it with him to better judge yourself?

And it's waifu. Attractive anime / manga woman.

@SleepingStandingUp Thank you for the information! Do you think 13 year old children should have waifus, as well? And i will look at some of the content in the show, and judge if he should be watching it.

@SleepingStandingUp After a quick google search of waifus, I am not really sure he should be having an anime character that he likes at that age, judging by the intensive sexualisation I have noticed. What do you think?

I dunno, I did a quick Google. Waifa is basically what they call a hot animated woman so o imagine at 13 he'll find some of the characters attractive cos it's hormones and stuff lol but you'd have to watch it to see whether there's anything inappropriate

I've seen the first series a long time ago, I remember it's ok, nothing outrageous in terms of violence or sex.

Having said that you may want to watch an episode or two ( only 20 mins) to check out how fanservice-ish it is. Meaning big boobs, ridiculous sexy outfits, other "female" stereotypes..

As a regular anime watcher I tend to be oblivious to some of it as it's so ingrained in the culture of anime.

Waifu refers to someone the viewer has a crush on...fantasy wife.

@happysunr1se Doesnt seem too bad, but I am slightly suspicious of the man “kira” saying “I got an erection”, but aside from that, im fine with it. Waifus dont seem too bad, but ill make sure my son doesn’t look at anything lewd.

The problem is, these are the type of anime older boys and girls want to watch, the cool popular shows; attack on titan, deathnote, re:zero etc etc

There are plenty of anime series which are not sexual or violent and therefore suitable for young teens from that point of view, but they're not bombastic enough to appeal maybe.
