What parental controls can I put on my dd mobile phone and how fo I do it? Through the router/wifi? Or an app that limit the time on movies, games, socia media and doesn’t allowed certain sites?

DH and I are hopeless with the technology. She is a responsible chil but I feel have gone a bit addicted to screens

Absolutely recommend Safe Lagoon app

Unfortunately, you're a bit late. If she's already got conpletely unfettered access to her phone with zero controls, and you try and restrict her, she's going to be mightily pissed off and/or feel like you don't trust her.

As a rule, if you don't understand how it works, don't give it to your children. That goes doubly for technology. There are plenty of apps and programs that will allow you control, but you're closing the stable doors after the horse has bolted. You'll need a plan in place for pushback and hurt feelings and potential diminishing of respect, if my personal experience is anything to go on.

I second Safe Lagoon, we use it and it's the best for monitoring... you have to pay for it but it's totally worth it. Family Link by google is free and very good too, but it doesn't let you see so deeply what the child is doing on the phone.
I use both, Family Link for screen time management (it blocks all the phone at night and when maximum screen time ran out, Safe Lagoon blocks only the apps) and Safe Lagoon for monitoring, to see history and screenshots of their phone use.
Both good for web filtering, maybe Safe Lagoon a little better.
For installing and prevent bypassing I think Safe Lagoon is much better, Family Link is very safe too but first you need to be sure to manually set it with no power saving options, administrative privileges and some other stuff I don't remember, in addiction to block phone setting with some other app (it's essential to prevent bypassing, Safe Lagoon blocks phone settings automatically).

Is it an Apple device? If it is Apple now have screen time as a feature. It gives you a lot of control and if you have an Apple device too you can control from your own device

Thank you for all the recommendations; the are very useful. It is an Apple so I will look at the screen time control; also we will install safe lagoon for monitoring what the phone is being used on.

Screen time will tell you what is being used where - it also only allows website that you input as ‘allowed’ - if you choose to used that function
