Concerned DD is taking drugs

All the signs I read about on the internet are there:
sudden lack of motivation for any hobbies/interests; poor personal appearance, hanging out with a new bunch of friends to the exclusion of her other long-term good ones etc...

She is 16, totally defensive about any attempt to open conversation and if she doesn't like an instruction not to go out or to be home at a certain time, she just ignores it. She is turning into a completely different person before my eyes!

Any advice?

Is she in school? They may run a drug program.

Tbh these may be signs of drugs but it’s far far more likely to be signs of typical moody teenage behaviour tbh or even depression. Get her a drugs test. I don’t think it’s drugs though

Is she depressed? Signs sound the same

I also wouldn’t jump to the conclusion that it’s drugs based on what you’ve listed here. Could she be being bullied at school or within her new group of friends?

Also how can she be going out at the moment, what with lockdown?

I used to be awful as a teenager and my mum thought I was on drugs, I wasn't, I was just a cow Grin I grew out of it though ha
