My dd is 14 and has so many apps do you parents have their log ins and pass words to monitor them or do you feel that they should be trusted at this age to use them responsibly ?

I make it clear to my 13 year old DS how he is to conduct himself on social media and he's not allowed to swear, be unkind or do things he knows aren't right. I don't have his passwords but I do ask him to run it by me first what he's downloading. I also have a rule in place that at any given time, I will ask for his tech and have a look through. I'm not in the slightest bit interested in his messages etc but I just like to skim through to check all is ok

The above works well for us and I only check once every couple of months. He knows he has these apps on trust and the rules are clear what's expected of him.

It’s worrying isn’t it, I’ve told my dd to keep everything private & not public, kids are vunerable on all these apps they see things that they shouldn’t as well , however she is reluctant to let me skim through her accounts .We all keep our phones downstairs at night as well .
