Help/advice needed - self piercing!

Just heard from my ex our daughter gave herself an ear piercing last night using a sewing needle. He made her take it out bcs he wasn’t sure it would be safe (she marked the spot with mascara and used a flame off a lighter to sanitise the needle) After cleaning it out (with aftershave!) they couldn’t get the stud back in.
From a practical perspective in terms of the best outcome for her body - what should we do now, let it heal, or take her to a piercing studio ASAP?
Obviously there’s a bigger question here about all this but my urgent priority is her ear not being left with a keloid lump or infection or half healed hole.

I’m assuming it’s just the ear lobe not cartilage? If so, my DD and most of her friends did this during lockdown. They’ve all be fine. Just make sure she cleans the wound with salt water.

Might be best to get it re-pierced as then at least the hole can be used rather than just being a mark on her ear.

Thanks both! I called the piercing studio where she had her is done properly and they said do all the after-care let it heal up and then bring her in for a proper piercing when it’s healed.
