Personal hygiene! 15 year old DS

I have a lovely 15 year old DS, we’ve been through the mill last year or so.. bunking school, trying weed, etc.. he’s now really focused and trying so hard in year 11.

The next issue I need to tackle is personal hygiene. He’s had a bath tonight but previously to that he had one last on Monday night. If you say anything he goes mad. Tonight I’ve put my foot down and demanded he gets in the bath or shower. He did it, but it’s a battle. He’s going through puberty and growing by the day. But this subject is like treading on eggshells.

He’s also developed this awful habit of hand down his pants and I don’t even think he realises he’s doing it! Please tell me all of this will pass!

My 11 year old dd is never out of the shower and we’re all very clean lol!

ds(16) showers every morning/afternoon as soon as he rolls out of bed. I think it is a much easier habit to form than to get them to stop what they are doing and have one, or doing anything, when they have settled down for the evening. Can you suggest to him he tries it for a few weeks to see if he gets into the habit and feels the benefit of it being fresh and ready to start the day.

It ds had his hand down has pants in my presence he would be told to get them out straight away.

Once he starts with romance he will take more interest in his hygiene.

Out 15 year old showers every morning before school and an extra long one before seeing his GF
Only started this about a year ago so maybe he's just a bit slow. Leave him to it he'll soon start when his mates call him smelly

It will pass and yes having a girlfriend helps lots. Mine showers now but still needs reminding to brush his teethHmm
