Don’t know what to do!

So DD16 has been on the birth control pill Gederal for 3 months and wants to change to something else. She’s been complaining of heartburn nearly every other day and she’s been quite moody/irritable which isn’t like her. I rang the doctors surgery today to make an appointment for her but the receptionist wouldn’t ‘discuss anything with me’ because to them DD is technically an adult, which is fine but all I wanted to do was make her an appointment which I’ve been able to do in the past without any problems. However, the main problem is that the nurse she would see/speak to is booked up all of September and is then going on holiday. So what do I suggest to my DD? Obviously I’ll get her to ring up on Monday to get an appointment for when she can but what can we do in the mean time? We could look into getting a one month emergency supply on Gederal but I’m worried about the heartburn side effect since she can taste sick in her month and can feel it rise in her throat plus she seems pretty miserable. But the only other alternative I can see is for her to not take the pill until the appointment, but I’m not sure how this will affect her. She used to have horrible periods (hence the use of the pill) and I’m worried that this could come back to haunt her if she comes off the pill. I know I must sound a bit hopeless here but I genuinely don’t know what to suggest to my DD (she doesn’t know what she wants to do either) since I’ve never been in this position myself. So really any advice or past experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks x

Honestly any advice would be helpful! DD has been stressing about it and nothing I say reassures her. I’ve been looking at trying to get an emergency one month supply from a pharmacist but all I can find is the morning after pill!

What about a women’s clinic (what used to be a Family Planning Clinic), they might be more useful?
