Ds (14) gran passed away a few weeks ago. He gets his pocket from his grandparents which was their thing, started by them. I’ve been wondering, should we continue to give him it on her behalf? Give him more ourselves or would you just let it stop as she’s no longer here? X

I would continue, if you can. Teenagers need some money of their own.

I would continue, even if it Is not the same amount
I do give my 16 years old and my almost 14 year old small pocket money each week since they started secondary school.

We usually give him £5 a week. Extra for certain chores but all grandparents between them gave him abiut £15 when they saw him every week! As I said it was their thing so we just went along with it. We probably didn’t need to give him that ourselves considering what they have him but that’s what’s we do. I’ve never really worked out how to pay pocket money, how much to give to be honest. He’s never really been a spender anyway until now x
