So my ds has been meeting up with school friends the last couple of weekends before going back to school.
I didn't want him to because of Covid 19 but he assured me he'd socially distance, wear his mask and he didn't want to be left out.... 'they we 'all' meeting up'.
I felt for him as he'd not seen any of his friends properly like many others so I agreed. Thought it would be good to allow him to let off some steam etc as been couped up with me for 6 months.
He has been out 3 times, and when collecting his washing from his room this morning I have found a Cannabis grinder in the bag he'd used on Sunday!!!
I'm unsure how to tackle this with him as he'll go nuts that I was in his bag.
At first I thought, has he picked this up off the pavement... but I have my suspicions from some of the stories he's told be about his 'friends'... that it could well be his. I'm not too keen on the area where they live and this is where he hangs out... but at the same time I'm not a snob and I know people can't help where they live or their circumstances. His gf (also 14) lives in a pub with her grandparents as her mum is an alcoholic and her dad is miles away too as he has PTSD. Not her fault and I actually feel for her.
My son hates smoking... and can't afford to as only gets £5 pocket money per week. The last thing I want is him to get addicted. He's been a good ds up to this point... albeit sometimes very hormonal and snappy... is taller than me which he tries to intimidate me with.
Now Boris has made his further announcement, I am thinking of stopping him going out again after this weekend.
I don't want world war 3 but at the same time I will discipline where it is required. He's just gone into Year 10 so has started his GCSEs... wanting to be an Architect one day.
