Just wondering if there’s an (average) spend on on an 18th birthday present for a child? My dd is spoiled throughout the years through family ( incl a phone over £1000) not by us but now panicking we can’t compete with the past?

Buy her what you can afford.
If it's not you buying her the 1000 pound phone they will again buy her something big.
A nice piece off jewellery that she can always have and a mother daughter weekend.
