You could ring your local and see when there is an open day.

If Ds has an idea of what he wants to do, I'd suggest a chat to the tutor/lecturer about what the course entails. See if it has some practical parts to it. A lot of employers are looking for experience as well as qualifications.
If he has no idea, then a good spread of A levels to possibly get him into University could be a solution.

Just seen your question too. Not sure about preordering a copy. I can cheat as I've got friends that work in HMV so I can phone and ask for a copy to be put under the counter for me! It's worth asking at your local shop. You may even be able to pre order in a couple of weeks. It's out 29/30 October.

DD315 is in year 11 and she has ben sent information about open days from two local colleges. We have also loked up college websites to find details of the courses she wants to do. She is following in her sisters footsteps and wants to do somesort of performing arts course.
