DD14 and nose piercing last night

Would be interested in some perspectives.

Basically a few weeks back, DD, who turned 14 in June, asked us if she could pierce her septum (herself). We said no, that if she still wants it at 16 she can do it at a piercing place (hoping she would have gone off it by then). She has multiple ear piercings, shaves bits of eyebrows, dyes hair etc, this is all fine by us.

Last night she went on a sleepover and has returned this morning with her nose pierced. Friend is a bit older, parents seemed completely unfazed by it.

How would you react to this?

I had mine done at 14, was done with a gun back then! Don't see an issue as long as she keeps it clean etc

I would be pissed because you said no and she did it anyway.

Yes, this is the aspect of it that upsets me.

My daughter just self pierced second holes in her ears (age 13) after I have said no for the last 18 months. Bday in November and was going to give her permission then. I have made her take them out because it’s the principle. She did a good job mind. But still. Going to make her sweat for a few months now . Brat!
