DD 18 has autism and struggling with no friends. She was upset last night as she was explaining how things haven't improved for her for years. I gave all the usual suggestions of joining clubs post Covid, but her reply was when she was at school she joined every sports club going and she currently attends Scouts and a Church youth group but none of this has led to any friends. She has said she wants a deep friendship, she can't cope with "small talk" but of course deep friendships don't happen overnight. Her peers areoving on with their lives, about to go to Uni etc and she is being left behind. My heart is breaking, i am at a loss how to help other than listen and hug her.

Hi, I feel so sorry for your DD, and you. My DD is 20, with ASD, and also has no friends. She has been fuloughed throughout lockdown and has not seen a soul other than me, her Dad and her sister. It's heartbreaking and I'm afraid I have no idea what to suggest. I'd love someone to wave a magic wand and fix it! Sorry - that's no help to you at all.
