Just started back at part time job low hours and low pay for age so wont last long
How often do your teenagers go out.
I wouldn't mind if she could walk but too far away.
Is this normal 7 nights a week at this age.
My dd says I'm the only parent doesn't allow it and she goes on a rant to I give kn or will run off

Mine is almost 16 but she doesn't go out 7 nights a week! I've always thought she had a lively social life too!

On school nights she usually just comes home but sometimes she'll spend about 2 hours at ours or a friend's house straight after school.

On a Friday she'll go for a sleepover at a pals' house and then often to town on Saturday for lunch and hanging out/shopping.

Sundays are usually back home in the afternoon.

Cinema and bowling is not that common. They like going to one another's homes at night and daytime is only shopping or coffees out.

Not normal in my opinion to go out every night. When does she do her school work?

It's very hard to say atm but dd (16) is out maybe one night a week usually. I wouldn't allow her out that many when at school/college. It's different being taxi for a job though.

My dd goes out a a few times a week max, to me your dd is going out excessively if she is depending on you to drive and fund her takeaways. Why not come to a compromise with her? Maybe 3 nights a week, she can choose the days? Weekends are better.

Surely the focus should be homework at her age? Not going out all of the time.

Sorry bit confusion this out every night is only on holiday time. We are on official school holidays in Ireland.
She doesn't go out during school term only at weekends then
I'm just trying to get a guide what is normal for summer time.
She is home around 9.30 /11 most nights they just like hanging out dancing singing watching movies or football.
She said at least I'm not out drinking or drugs which apparently other teenagers do.
I let her have a party last week and they where all away home by 11 and well behaved except 1 broke a window on an outside shed.

I think at her age, she can look at alternative transport if she wants to go out so much. Share lifts with friends’ parents, cycle, etc. And she should start saving for driving lessons. It shouldn’t all be on you.

Are you very rural?

Rainallnight · 09/07/2020 09:47

Also, why can’t friends sometimes come round to hers?

We are too far from town for friends to hang around. They all gather at 3 different houses.
