It's all the title really. DS turns 14 soon and I'd like to buy him some 'in' trainers but don't know what's fashionable at the moment. Does anyone have any suggestions?

TIA

Nike seem to be the most popular one.

Depends on his style. Is there any reason you arent asking him? My boys dont like v "trainery" trainers and wear New Balance.

sunshineandshowers21 · 29/06/2020 17:53

my eldest is almost 13 and he wears nike air vapormax. they’re expensive and i hate them but that’s what most of the boys around his age and older seem to be wearing.

WeAllHaveWings · 29/06/2020 20:24

You need to ask him, different groups of kids have different ideas to what is 'in'

Thanks all. I wanted it to be a surprise but maybe I should check with him first.

A pair of Nikes are your best bet. DS (12) has just had some Nike Air Max 2090 for his birthday and DD(14) has some Nike Air Max 90’s. Both of them had Air Max 270’s before those. Nike Air Force One’s are worn by pretty much every teenager and I think Air Jordan’s are popular again. All very expensive though!

WeAllHaveWings · 29/06/2020 23:01

Ds(16) likes some nike, but air max and Jordan aren't popular here, no idea why. He prefers adidas nmd. Expensive mistake if they aren't the 'right' ones.

Also adidas and nike sizes are quite different and even ranges in each brand can run small or bigger than usual, if you are ordering on line measure his feet first and order a couple of sizes. Also search for vouchers, you can usually find 10-20% off.

converseandjeans · 30/06/2020 00:03

I would ask him tbh - maybe get a voucher?

converseandjeans · 30/06/2020 00:04

Vans and converse are also popular with kids at the mo - as well as the Nike

My 12 year old likes Nike Air Max. He always chooses though, I wouldn't risk just guessing - the selection process and excitement of going out to buy them or waiting for them to arrive are part of the fun, so maybe ask him to choose?

Feellikedancingyeah · 30/06/2020 12:57

Just found some nice men's Nike ones in Schuh sale for £30

Rollergirl11 · 30/06/2020 13:10

Yes others are right, it’s an expensive mistake to make if they’re wrong. Perhaps a JD Sports gift/ecard might be better than he can choose for himself?

Lightofthephoenix · 30/06/2020 15:31

Nike 270's

Grapesoda7 · 10/07/2020 00:04

Nike airforce are popular at the moment.

mamaduckbone · 10/07/2020 21:09

I absolutely wouldn't dare to choose trainers for ds14 (or ds11 for that matter) - they have very clear ideas about what they like. I'd ask him!

Pipandmum · 10/07/2020 21:11

You MUST ask him!
