How much data?

No Matter how Much data our 15 yr old dd is she seems to use it all
She's currently on 15g/month and has just been completely uncontactabpe for three hours as her data has run out (iPhone so doesn't get messages either and didn't answer when I rang)
She's started to go out a bit now lockdowns easing but seriously shouldn't still be burning though that much data surely?

How much does your 15 year old get please and how have you dealt with them running out? (She's paid for tip ups before and will again tonight)

Where is she going that uses up the data? Is she forgetting to hook up to the WiFi when she's in the house?

Ds1 (15) gets 45gb

Ds2 (13) gets 500mb.

If they run out then tough. They can send old fashioned texts.

Get her warned that if she can’t look after her phone properly and remember to keep some allowance on it for emergencies then she’ll be onto the £20 Alcatel cheapo one in Argos that’s got no internet, as you will be confiscating her good phone. Nae luck if she doesn’t like it

You’ll probably have to get a cheapo one so the message sinks in that you mean business, but after one confiscation/replacement I’d think she’d soon be more responsible.

I was only one year older than her and I was out of the house in a flat with bills and a full time job. She’s not a baby so she needs to try harder to be more responsible.

Mine is 17 and has unlimited data with Giff Gaff. It's £25 a month, I think it was £20 back when he was 14/15.

Why has she been using so much data recently? If anything she should have been using less! Is she just using data in place of the Wi-Fi? Also she shouldn't be uncontactable, the data refers to internet connection - you should still be able to phone and text her.

Is this a thing? I have never had to turn my data on and off on any phone I have had. It just connects to the Wi-Fi overlay of its available.

Yes but I think if the WiFi isn't working well then her dd switches it off the WiFi and uses data instead
