15 yr old son and sex on the internet

A few years ago I had a chat with my son after discovering he'd been viewing porn online. I changed the settings on my bt hub so it's not accessible anymore and thought he had stopped. The other day I discovered he is playing an online game called Degrees of Lewdity. From what I've read about it it seems way too graphic verbally as you develop a character in the game for sex purposes. Does anyone out there no about this and how harmful it might be? I've chatted with him again about this site and he says it's his way of exploring things. I dont know how to help him understand it's too adult for him. Please help

I haven't ever heard of it but google describes it as 'Degrees of Lewdity is a text-based erotic sandbox game, currently in development by Vrelnir. Degrees of Lewdity is an erotic game. You play an 18-year-old boy or girl in a town full of people with lewd intentions.' I would take his devices off him and discuss why you are doing it (the fact that you are playing as an 18 year old in the game should tell him that the game is inappropriate). Is he using his phone or a laptop to play the game? If a laptop, I would install netnanny on it whilst it is confiscated, and if a phone then up the parental controls.

Yes you are right. It's a good idea regarding the net nanny thing. I've found it really difficult being firm enough to do this.

Almost all normal 15 year old boys mastrurbate... it usually starts soon after they start senior school and become curious because everyone talks about it. Fri. His next birthday he can legally have sex. I don't think you should stop h8m or try to stop him from watching porn, just leave him to it.

His dad and I divorced 9 years ago and we get on well. I've put him in the picture about this. I'm hoping he can have a face to face talk with him this weekend. In my day boys had smutty boobs and bums mags for masturbation and I'd feel more comfortable if he were using those. The internet is like a rabbit hole/mine field of pornographic stuff.

Hi, just to say you are not alone in this my ds15 is the same although I think he is just watching it rather than playing a game

Well he's been accessing Internet Pien since he was 12 or 13 so honestly I don't know if the proverbial ship has sailed.

Def get exH to talk consent, healthy respective sex, how porn is people pretending to enjoy stuff they're paid to do rather than what a 16 girl should be happy to do and some stuff shit legal ages, sending photos of himself / asking girls for photos

As someone who was his age when internet porn became widely available (and increasingly violent) my opinion is that it’s unhealthy. Porn can sexually cripple a man. Is there any need for him to use the internet unsupervised? If not I wouldn’t allow it and I would find him some accounts from victims of porn induced ED and other sexual dysfunction. Older generations seem to have no idea what this can do to some whose is just developing their sexuality.
