I'm just wondering what sorn of gifts your 14 years old got for their birthdays?

My dd what's the new iPhone se which will cost me £27 per month, I have very little money coming in right now so I'm not getting it!

I am thinking of getting her an Internet extender (if you could recommend a good one that would be great) so she can have Internet in her room!

Clothes, a penny board maybe some new trainers! Any other ideas welcome Smile

I know alot of dds friends have the latest phones but I think it's a waste of my money and I don't really want her having the latest phone and maybe breaking it or something, but I feel abit tight leaving her with her old iPhone 6. I did offer to get her a new phone which was not iPhone but she said no!

Hiya.

I wouldn't worry about getting the latest iPhone for her especially after you have offered an alternative phone, does hers work?
I would say that if you are feeling the pinch at the moment and having to be careful that buying a penny board, new clothes, Internet extender and trainers seems a little over the top. That's quite a lot of money so she will probably end up thinking if you can afford that then you could effectively have bought the phone on a monthly contract.
How about asking if there is anything she would like instead of the phone? Explain that at the moment things are a little tight and that maybe once this is all over you can rethink it, maybe for Christmas? (If we haven't all been made redundant etc)
Good luck

My dd was given an HP Sprocket to print out all her iPhone pictures and stick over her wall, some fairy lights and a huge blanket/ hoody thing for sitting on sofas and watching, a cheap waterproof speaker for the shower and tickets for a concert she wanted to go to.
Luckily it was someone no one had heard of so weren’t expensive Grin

Add up how much all you have listed costs and then compare to the iPhone. One of mine was happy to have a pair of ludicrously expensive trainers but no other presents at all, from any of his direct family including siblings. I gave him the choice and he wrongly Wink chose the trainers so that's what he got. He was delighted and it was actually slightly cheaper that buying all the things I thought he'd like.

Hi. Mine is after a projector so she can watch films / tv on her bedroom wall. I find stuff for bedroom always goes down well/ let's face it.. they spend enough time up there.
